A Schott shearling jacket transformed into a piece about origin, memory and conflict. Hand-painted with words by Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko, the piece creates a dialogue between the ongoing war in Ukraine and Schott’s own history, founded in New York by Irving and Jack Schott, sons of Russian immigrants. An American icon becomes a surface where inherited origins and contemporary history collide.
